I am excited to celebrate our 2018-2019 Coordinator and Fellow corps!  We have five new coordinators who I would like to introduce:

Anna Tuggle is the Fellow Coordinator for Hamilton Middle School and Holm Elementary School. The past four years she has taught middle and high school math in DPS after becoming inspired to pursue teaching by her own time as a math fellow six years ago!

Bill Gray is the Fellow Coordinator at Florida Pitt Waller and is an avid learner of all things math and literacy.  Coming to us most recently from Summit Academy where he was the Senior Team Lead and STR.

DJ Barks is the Fellow Coordinator at Garden Place Elementary, Place Bridge Academy and Trevista at Horace Mann.  He comes to us most recently from the classroom where he taught first grade at Force Elementary.

Katie Wichterman is the fellow coordinator at Merrill Middle School and Emily Griffith High School.  She comes to us most recently from Strive Prep Montbello where she was an Assistant Principal.

Meredith Trevino is the fellow coordinator at High Tech Early College and College Preparatory Academy and has been working for DPS for the last 5 years in a variety of roles, including serving as a Denver Math Fellow at three different middle schools and most recently was Denver Fellows’ Data and Recruitment Coordinator.

We are very excited to welcome these new leaders to our program.  We are excited to learn alongside and from each of them.

In addition to our wonderful coordinator staff, we have an outstanding group of math and literacy fellows again this year. Thirty-three fellows are serving in the Denver Fellows program for a second year or more.  The average GPA of our corps is 3.4 and we have fellows from 45 states and 6 countries.  We have a very diverse group of fellows working with and reflecting the diversity of the students in Denver Public Schools. Everyone has hit the ground running, providing mentoring and high quality instruction to the students in our partnering schools.  If you know of someone or are yourself interested in becoming a Denver Fellow and have an Associate’s degree or higher, please visit our website at Denverfellows.com and apply today.

We are looking forward to the different opportunities we will experience and the learning we will engage in over the course of this year.  We are grateful for the commitment, determination, and perseverance of every member of the Denver Fellow’s team.  Together we will help each and every child succeed!
